One of my favorite performances every year is speed painting for a charity gala in Boca Raton, Florida to support The Boys and Girls club of Broward County. The annual event is sponsored in a large part by Rick Case and Auto Nation. Each time they bring in big name headliners like Jay Leno, Howie Mandel, Dana Carvey, Bob Newhart, and Dennis Miller – Jeff Foxworthy was there this year! It was an honor and a blast to be included again. I was so thankful that they asked me back for the 7th time!
Concourse d’Elegance
It’s not just about the amazing entertainment – the event features a car show! The classic concourse d’elegance showcases hundreds of the most beautiful classic cars and motorcycles you have ever seen. This one event raises millions every year for the Boys and Girls Club at the VERY tony Boca Raton Beach Club and Resort.
Speed Painting Time!
For my speed painting performance, I painted my favorite repertoire piece, Lady Liberty, as well as a Formula One and Dan Marino. We also auctioned off a Tom Brady portrait that was created in my studio, as well as another Lady Liberty speed painting. The second Lady Liberty was leftover from our event at the Kennedy Center with the National Symphony Orchestra. All of the proceeds from these paintings went to the charity!
Star Struck
Jeff Foxworthy did a solid 45 minute set. I got to to escort him to his photo op room afterwards – what an honor! I did two years of open mic stand up and it’s always a thrill to meet one of my idols. Jeff is also one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.
