PaintJam Brings McAlvain’s 45th Anniversary to Life in Boise
On a hot July day – PaintJam recently brought high-energy artistry to Boise, Idaho, for McAlvain Construction’s Lion Awards – 45 Years State of the Union celebration. Held at J.U.M.P. (Jack’s Urban Meeting Place) in the Pioneer Room, more than 250 attendees gathered to honor McAlvain’s legacy of large-scale construction projects and its guiding philosophy: Do the right thing, always.
A Lion, a Legacy, and a City Transformed
The performance opened with a speed painting of a lion, symbolizing McAlvain’s core values. To mark the company’s milestone, Harvey Dunn revealed a custom “45th Anniversary” image layered into the canvas – a signature PaintJam surprise that brought cheers from the crowd.
Next came a powerful nod to Boise’s hometown pride: a vibrant Boise State Broncos football helmet. The Broncos aren’t just a team in Boise – they’re part of the city’s DNA. That energy surged through the room as the painting was revealed.
The grand finale was a fully customized piece featuring McAlvain’s impact on Boise’s skyline. A hard-hat worker, wearing a vest emblazoned with the McAlvain logo, looking out over the cityscape, including the iconic Boise Statehouse and the newly completed 20-story glass tower known as The Arthur. This imagery connected the company’s story directly to Boise’s growth and transformation—an unforgettable tribute to McAlvain’s role in shaping the city.
Personal Connections and Shared Moments
Beyond the spectacle on stage, PaintJam made sure every attendee left with something tangible: a hand-signed, matted 5×7 print of the lion painting. Guests lined up to meet Harvey Dunn, shake his hand, and share their reactions. Many were still wearing their safety vests. The performance was enjoyed by the diverse and hardworking team that makes up McAlvain Construction.
