Legends Painted Live at Pinehurst for Premium Audio
When Premium Audio brought PaintJam back for their annual meeting in August 2025, the stage was set for an event steeped in history and energy. The gathering took place at the Pinehurst Golf Resort in North Carolina, overlooking the very 18th hole where Payne Stewart sank his legendary putt to win the 1999 U.S. Open. With the theme of “Legends” and the tagline “On the Backs of Giants,” everything about the evening was designed to celebrate greatness.
Setting the Stage
Premium Audio is the distributor behind Klipsch, a brand approaching its 80th anniversary, along with several other respected names in sound. Their president, Tommy Jacobs, leaned fully into the spirit of the event by dressing like Payne Stewart in golf knickers and a patriotic cap. As a bagpiper played outside on the 18th green, the atmosphere balanced tradition with performance, creating the perfect backdrop for PaintJam.
Legends on Canvas
PaintJam was tasked with bringing the theme to life on stage. The lineup of paintings included Willie Nelson, Louis Armstrong, and Payne Stewart himself.
The show opened with Willie Nelson. His iconic red headband was first painted as a pair of oversized lips, paired with the soundtrack of “Dude Looks Like a Lady.” The playful misdirection had the crowd laughing, and the final reveal of Nelson earned cheers and applause.
Louis Armstrong followed, his portrait emerging as jazz filled the room. The tribute honored one of the greatest musicians of all time and perfectly echoed the company’s connection to sound.
The finale was Payne Stewart. Painted live for a crowd of about 140 people, the portrait incorporated the custom logo for the sales meeting. Guests whispered in anticipation as the image took shape, then erupted when Stewart appeared on the canvas in his famous victory pose.
An Unforgettable Finish
What made the night even more memorable was the surprise that followed. Tommy Jacobs returned to the stage and led an impromptu auction of the paintings. The Payne Stewart piece sold for ten thousand dollars, while the portraits of Nelson and Armstrong each raised five thousand. In total, the auction generated twenty thousand dollars, turning a performance into a moment of lasting impact.
Why PaintJam Works
For Premium Audio, PaintJam was more than entertainment. It was a partner in creating an experience that perfectly matched the theme of the event and celebrated the company’s connection to legendary sound. The laughter, gasps, and applause in the ballroom showed how live speed painting can transform an annual meeting into something unforgettable.
If you are planning a corporate event or customer gathering, PaintJam can bring the same energy and artistry to your stage. We take your theme and your story and bring it to life in real time through art and music.
