PaintJam Takes the Stage at Microsoft Event: Blending Art, Innovation, and Global Excitement
On July 10th, 2025 – PaintJam artist Harvey Dunn brought his extraordinary live speed painting talent to Seattle. The event was hosted by Microsoft at the Seattle Convention Center, captivating hundreds of attendees with visually stunning performances. This collaboration marked another step for PaintJam onto the global stage, solidifying their role as the premier entertainment partner for world-renowned brands.
Painting Microsoft’s Vision in Real Time
PaintJam was contacted by Microsoft to create paintings that would align with their team’s strategic talking points. Because those talking points were still in development, the creative process required collaboration and flexibility—a perfect match for PaintJam’s adaptive style.
Initial themes like “Clarity” and “Seeing Possibilities” sparked early visual ideas such as an eye, a telescope, a magnifying glass, or even an astronomical observatory. As the narrative developed, so did the art direction.
An Artistic Celebration of Innovation
The opening painting featured a cowboy riding through Monument Valley, symbolizing trailblazing and exploring new frontiers—a metaphor for Microsoft’s bold movement into areas like artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The piece began with Western music and transitioned into high-octane rock and roll, setting the tone for the final event of the day. Paintjam’s mission was to wake people up … Mission Accomplished!
Following the first painting, Harvey shared his personal story of transitioning from shipping and receiving into the world of live performance art with his father. His candid, unscripted moment—including a mash-up recalling his high school plays—made him instantly relatable and drew the audience in.
Misleading the Eye: Playful Premier League Reveal
A key talking point at the event was the importance of strong team culture. Microsoft’s leadership frequently referenced the Premier League as an example of competitive, high-performance teamwork. In response, PaintJam painted the Premier League’s lion logo using a technique called “misdirection“—where the audience is led to believe one image is forming, only to be surprised when it transforms into something else. The effect is playful, unexpected, and never fails to captivate the audience.
The Precision of Performance: Formula One Finale
To drive home themes of precision, professionalism, and acceleration, PaintJam concluded with a powerful painting of the BWT Alpine Formula One race car—Team #31, driven by Esteban Ocon during the 2024 season. Microsoft is a key technology partner of the Alpine F1 team, and the race car symbolized everything from technical excellence to global reach. It was the perfect image to illustrate setting the pace for the new fiscal year.
